PROGRAM 1: GENERAL WELDING AND FABRICATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

After successful completion of 3H General Welding & Fabrication technology program students gain:

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints

Extensive knowledge of various welding techniques

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Skilled in both mechanical and manual welding practices

Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment

Design and build your own products

Analytical skills (the ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make decisions)

This program is designed for beginners who want to learn from the basic to the advance forms of welding and fabrication technology. Students will be taken through IELTS program and Mathematics within the duration of the program.

TOTAL DURATION: 3 YEARS

SEMESTER DURATION: 4 MONTHS PER SEMESTER

General welding technology program is in 3 parts.

Part 1: General knowledge in welding

Duration: 1 year

Courses: Arc /Stick Welding, IELTS, Mathematics, welding symbols, drawing and interpretation of engineering drawings and blueprints.

Part 2: Welding projects and Internships

Duration: 1 year

Part 3: Specialization

Duration: 1 year

Courses: Students decide which advanced welding type to specialize in

Advanced Welding Types:  TIG WELDING, MIG WELDING, GAS WELDING, FLUX CORE WELDING.

 Examinations: TVET General welding proficiency 1 & 2

 

PROGRAM 2: ADVANCED WELDING TECHNOLOGY SHORT COURSE PROGRAM

This program is designed for students who have prior knowledge in arc welding and will want to learn the advanced forms of welding. Students will select from 4 options of welding processes namely, TIG Welding, MIG welding, Gas welding and Flux Core welding. Students will be taken through welding symbols, drawing and interpretation of engineering drawings and blueprints during the duration of the program.

Advanced students have the option to undertake the IELTS program in addition to their chosen specialization program.

TOTAL DURATION: 6 MONTHS

SEMESTER DURATION: 3 MONTHS PER SEMESTER  

PROGRAM FEES: The program fees include the following

Admission Process:

Students applying for this program will undergo testing before gaining admission. Student who fails the test will have to undergo a 1-month mandatory refresher arc welding course at a fee. 

External Examinations, Testing and Certification

After successful completion students will undertake:

  1. General Welding and Fabrication Technology Program and Advanced welding program NP1 and NP2 TVET examinations respectively. Qualified students will be awarded GENERAL WELDING PROFICIENCY 1 CERTIFICATE AND GENERAL WELDING PROFICIENCY 2 CERTIFICATE respectively.

 

  1. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY (IELTS) organized by the British Counsel and will be awarded IELTS Certificate.
